Hays and Liberal got together in Dodge City at Legend Park Thursday afternoon.  Liberal’s field was too wet after rain earlier in the week.  Hays dominated game one 11-0 in five innings and won the second game 13-2.

In game one, Liberal had just two hits  and committed seven errors.   Hays scored four in the first, three in the second, one  in the fourth and three in the fifth.  Haiden Lyon and Brooklyn Short had hits.  Devaney Carter pitched 3 and 2/3 allowing one earned run.  The Indians out-hit the Redskins 14-2.  Liberal committed seven errors in the loss.

Walks were an issue for LHS in game two as Liberal pitching walked nine Hays hitters.  Hays only out hit LHS 10-8.  HHS scored five in the second, LHS scored one in the third, Hays scored two in the fifth, one in the sixth, and five in the seventh.  The Redskins scored one in the seventh.  Haiden Lyon was 3-4.  Allie Champion was 2-2.  Haiden Lyon and Brooklyn Shot hit doubles.  Zoey Torres hit a triple.

Hays is 12-8 overall and 7-4 in the WAC.  Liberal falls to 9-12 overall and 0-9 in the WAC.  Liberal plays a double header at Dodge City Tuesday.
