Guymon Man Dies in Cimarron County Accident

A fatality accident occurred Thursday afternoon at approximately 1:54pm on US-287, approximately 15 miles southeast of Boise City, OK in Cimarron County.
A 1999 Freightliner driven by Jerry Donald Hayworth, 82, of Guymon, OK was travelling north on US-287, when the semi struck farm equipment that was partly in the roadway, causing the truck to depart the road to the right.
The Freightliner continued 238 feet before losing control and landing on its side.
Hayworth was pinned for 1 hour and 56 minutes before being freed by Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers and Cimarron County Sheriff’s office by use of Hurst tools.
Hayworth was pronounced dead at the scene due to massive injuries.
