Guymon Man Airlifted After Roll Over Accident

A Guymon family was seriously injured in a single vehicle rollover on their way back from a church trip in Indiana.

The accident, which occurred shortly before 6:30 Sunday morning, happened 5.6 miles west of May, Okla. on Hwy. 270.

According to a Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s personal injury collision report , a 15 passenger Ford van driven by Todd Singleterry, of Guymon, was westbound on Hwy. 270 when it ran off the left side of the roadway and traveled up the guard rail onto the bridge rail. The van then fell into a creek bed rolling one and a quarter times before coming to a rest on the passenger’s side. The van then caught fire and burned.

Patty Singleterry, a passenger, was ejected from the passenger’s side door. She was transported to Woodward Regional Hospital with head, leg, arm and trunk internal injuries. She was then airlifted to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma, City where she listed in stable condition.

Todd was also transported to Woodward Regional Hospital with head, leg, arm and trunk internal injuries where he is listed in stable condition.

Two other passengers, Kelly and Braylee Singleterry were released from Woodward’s hospital with head, arm and leg injuries.

Seatbelts were in use by the driver only, according to the report. The report also listed the weather as cloudy and the roadway as being wet.

The single-vehicle collision was worked by Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Harper County Sheriff’s Office, Laverne Police Department and Laverne EMS.
