Great Bend Grapples Past LHS Teams on Senior Night

On Senior Night in the Big House Thursday, Liberal’s wrestling teams competed with the Great Bend Panthers. The Great Bend girls won the dual 42-37 and the Great Bend boys defeated the Redskins 64-15. Both LHS teams are 0-3 in the WAC.
The boys had three winners. Trystian Juarez pinned his man in 4:27 at 190. Tommy McClure won 7-2 at 150 and Oscar Pablo won by fall at 157 in 57 seconds.
As for the girls, Kiersie Carlile and Mana Chanthasone had open weights. Isabella Gutierrez won by fall at 110 in 1:41. Nicole Catalan won 15-14 at 140. Alexa Valenzuela won by fall at 145 at 3 minutes. Hayleen Martinez won by decision at 190. Alexa Macias won by fall in 1:12 at 235.
Liberal wraps up the WAC season with a dual at Dodge City Tuesday.
