Governor Announces Appointments to Commissions and Boards

Kansas Governor Sam Brownback today announced numerous appointments to boards and commissions.

“I am proud to announce these Kansans to their respective boards and commissions,” Governor Brownback said. “I am confident that these individuals will utilize their experience and expertise in their respective professions to work to make Kansas even better.”

Governor’s Council on Travel and Tourism

The Governor’s Council on Travel and Tourism advises the Department of Commerce in the development and implementation of the state’s tourism marketing and business development, provides information for preparation of the annual budget for the Division of Travel and Tourism development, and reviews tourism related issues and current state policies and programs.

· Janet Stevens, of Dodge City , is the director of the Dodge City Convention and Visitors Bureau. She is active in numerous boards related to tourism in Southwest Kansas , including the Try Southwest Kansas Alliance, the Wild West Country and the Kansas Cattletown Coalition.

· Lynda Fort, of Ulysses, is the Executive Director of the Kansas Bed and Breakfast Association. She has served as the Wild West Country Regional Tourism President and has received numerous recognitions from civic organizations in her community, including Outstanding Young Woman of America, and Outstanding Junior Clubwoman of Kansas.
