Free Business Seminars to be Offered February 28

Joe Denoyer - February 20, 2019 4:43 pm

By Liberal Area Coalition For Families

Free business seminars are coming to Liberal. The seminars are sponsored by the Liberal Area Coalition for Families, the Liberal Area Chamber of Commerce, and PayChex, a company that provides payroll, human resources, retirement and insurance services to more than 600,000 businesses. PayChex is based in Overland Park, Kan., and is providing the industry professionals to present the seminars.

The topics in the seminars will include: recruiting and retention, application and interviewing law changes, jobs descriptions/employee classifications, payment of overtime hours, benefits (at no cost to employer), handbook policies, workplace non-harassment policy changes, employment-at-will, discipline and termination and OSHA.

“I was attending a professional association meeting where Mark Mansingh, HCM Business Consultant with PayChex, gave this presentation and I thought it was really valuable information for both non-profit organizations and small businesses who usually don’t have a dedicated human resource professional to keep on top of all the changes that have happened. When I contacted him, he volunteered to come out to Liberal and do the same presentation here and even bring additional professionals with him,” said Kay Burtzloff, president of the Liberal Area Coalition for Families. “I wanted to partner with the Liberal Area Chamber of Commerce so we could reach as many non-profits and small businesses as possible.”

A light breakfast will be provided at the 9 a.m. session and lunch will be provided at the 11:30  a.m. session. While the sessions are free, registration is necessary. Registrations may be emailed to [email protected] or contact the Chamber office at 620-624-3855
