First BJ is Selected in MLB Draft

The Liberal Bee Jays are watching the draft closely to see which of their players will be drafted and where. Liberal’s Cameron Monger was selected Wednesday. The San Diego Padres selected the New Mexico outfielder in the 27th round. Monger played for the Dodge City A’s last year and hit .333. He was a standout at Howard College batting .446 with 12 homers and 55 RBI’s. Monger is a native of Weatherford, Texas.
