Fatality Accident in Morton County Claims an Iowa Woman

A fatality accident occurred on Monday afternoon at approximately 1:15 pm, 0.3 mile East from Road 16 on U56. A 2011 Ford F150 pick up being driven by Amandra K Vanzant, 35, of Elkhart was Eastbound on US 56 while a 2018 GMC Terrain being driven by Emily M. Panther, 32, of Milwaukee Wisconsin was Westbound on US 56. The pick up struck a patch of ice and went left of center striking the Terrain head on.

Both Vanzant and Panther were taken to the Morton County Hospital with suspected serious injuries. A passenger in the Terrain. Jared A. Leppert, 33, of Milwaukee, was also taken to the Morton County Hospital with minor injuries. A second passenger in the Terrain, Loretta M Panther, 64, of Iowa City Iowa, died in the accident.
