Elkhart Community Receives Support From TCEC

Joe Denoyer - November 21, 2016 8:14 am

The community of Elkhart recently received financial contributions from TCEC in several ways.
TCEC employees raised funds during the annual Co-op Cares Food Drive for local community food pantries. The cooperative matched the funds raised by employees for a total of $1,960 this year. Four food pantries in local communities will each receive $490, including the Hands for Hope food pantry and clothing ministry. Other local food pantries receiving funds this year are in Beaver, Boise City and Guymon, Oklahoma.
The Elkhart school district also received its annual donation from the local electric cooperative recently. That donation is presented to the school administrator to be allocated throughout the year for items the school would normally ask the cooperative to support.
First responders in Elkhart, including the emergency management department, firefighters and emergency medical service also recently received donations from TCEC. First responders work closely with the cooperative in the event of an emergency and the cooperative supports their mission.
As an electric cooperative, TCEC’s mission is to improve the quality of life of those we serve. Carrying out the cooperative principles is fundamental to the way TCEC does business. All of these contributions tie back to the Seventh Cooperative Principle of “Concern for Community.”
