Driver Falls Asleep Causing Injury Accident on 83

A man was taken to the hospital yesterday after he fell asleep at the US 56- US 83 intersection near Sublette. Fifty-five year old Bernon Fischer of Canyon, Texas was taken to Satanta Hospital with injuries Thursday morning. He was driving a 2004 Ford pickup behind a semi headed north on Highway 83. While slowing down to stop at the intersection, Fischer fell asleep and hit the rear of the trailer the semi was pulling. The crash was reported to the Kansas Highway Patrol at about 9:53 Thursday morning.
