Dodge City Police Investigate Double Shooting

Dodge City police are investigating a double shooting.

It happened Monday in the 3200 block of Louis Street.

Officers say 64-year-old Barbara Hileman and 26-year-old Amanda Hileman were shot.

They were transported to Western Plains Regional Hospital for treatment by private vehicle.

The victims informed officers that the gunman was still inside the home.

Officers set up perimeter to contain the suspect on the property.

He surrendered a short time later.

Authorities say the suspect is a 36-year-old Dodge City resident.

His name is being withheld pending the filing of formal charges with the Ford County Attorney’s Office.
