Denoyer, Long, and Harold File For City Commission

The City Clerk’s office announces that Joe Denoyer, 920 West 7th, Tim Long, 2480 Windridge Court and Dale Harrold, 1680 North Cain, filed for City Commission on Monday morning, January 14, 2013. They are the fourth, fifth and sixth candidates to file for the four (4) vacant City Commission positions, joining Dave Harrison and John Blackmore who filed in December and Candace Koehn who filed last week. The deadline to file for City Commission is noon on Tuesday, January 22, 2013. The positions currently held by Joe Denoyer, Dave Harrison, Larry Koochel and Tim Long will be vacant in April. Denoyer and Long will have served 4-year terms, while Harrison and Koochel will have served 2-year terms. At the April 2, 2013 general election, the top two (2) successful candidates will receive 4-year terms and the third and fourth successful candidates will receive 2-year terms. If more than twelve (12) individuals file for the vacant City Commission positions, a primary election will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, to reduce the candidates to three (3) per position.

Those interested in filing for City Commission need to complete a Candidate’s Declaration of Intention form and pay the $45.00 filing fee with the City Clerk’s office by noon on Tuesday, January 22, 2013. The office is located at City Hall, 324 North Kansas, is open from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon and 1:00 to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
