Death Ruled Accidental

On July 28, 2011, at about 8:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to an open field near Mosaic, 441 Industrial, for a report of a dead body. Investigating officers learned that 60 year old Deline Shirota of Liberal had left work at National Beef, 1500 E. Eighth, and never returned home. She was discovered in the field near her home by family members.

An autopsy was completed by the coroner’s office on Friday, July 29, 2011. The autopsy indicated that Shirota died as a result of an overdose of prescribed medication. The investigation has concluded that the death was accidental.
