Crash with Semi Kills One and Injures Another Near Kismet

One man died and one is injured after a crash Sunday morning on Highway 54 near Kismet. The Kansas Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred at about 6:42 Sunday morning .7 miles west of Kismet. Twenty seven year old Jon Steven Wiggins of Dodge City was driving a Ford SUV west on 54 when his car drifted across the center line into the east bound trafficway. A semi headed east tried to avoid the SUV but struck it in the eastbound traffic lane. The SUV and the semi came to rest in the westbound ditch. The driver of the SUV, Wiggins, was pronounced dead at 11:25 Monday morning. His passenger 29 year old Christopher Borges of Magnolia, Texas is in Wesley Hospital in Wichita with injuries. The truck drivers were not injured.
