City Commission Approves Another Rural Housing Incentive District

KSCB News - June 10, 2015 10:35 am

The Liberal City Commission met Tuesday evening for their regularly scheduled meeting. Among the items on the agenda, the Commissioners approved Resolution 2217 which creates another Rural Housing Incentive District for the possible devlopment of housing within the City of Liberal. This area is near Highway 83 on the east edge of Liberal.

The commission approved a new directional sign on west Highway 54, pointing travellers to the Mid America Air Museum, this to be paid for by the MAAM Foundation, approved New Dawn Interface software for Municipal Court, $5000 for reward money for the Police Department out of the Crime Prevention portion of the one cent sales tax, and approved the replacement of the 5th Street Wastewater Lift Station which is over 30 years old.

Commissioners also deeded back a parcel of land to the Randle family that they had, years ago, gave to the City for drainage. The city no longer needs the property, so it was given back to the Randles.

The next commission meeting is scheduled for June 23.
