Citations Issued in a Three Vehicle Accident in Liberal

On September 18th at approximately 3:43 pm, officers of the Liberal Police Department were dispatched to 1441 General Welch Blvd to an injury accident involving three vehicles.

Upon arrival, it was discovered that a tan 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 was stopped in a line of traffic on General Welch Blvd. A black 2015 Chevrolet Silverado was stopped behind the tan Silverado. A gray 2006 Honda Accord was traveling west on General Welch at approximately 30mph., approaching the stopped vehicles.

The driver of the Honda Accord struck the back of the black Silverado, causing it to strike the rear end of the tan Silverado. The driver of the Honda had apparent minor injuries to his left forearm. No other person involved in the accident had any apparent injuries.

The driver of the Accord was issued a notice to appear for inattentive driving and no/expired drivers license. The driver of the black Silverado was issued a notice to appear for driving against restrictions. The driver of the tan Silverado was issued a notice to appear for driving against restrictions and no seat belt.
