KSCB News - October 29, 2013 10:27 am

The Celebrity Livestock Judging Contest, sponsored by the Agriculture Department at Seward County Community College/Area Technical School, is scheduled for Nov. 22-23.

No livestock judging experience or knowledge is required. The only requirement is the desire to raise money for scholarships. The social begins at 6:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 22 at the Hampton Inn where teams will buy a ??celebrity? for Saturday??s competition. The judging contest begins at 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 23 at the agriculture building on the SCCC/ATS campus.

A team consists of 2-3 members plus a celebrity. Businesses or individuals can sponsor a team for a minimum of $400 for a full team, sponsor a half team for $250 or become an event sponsor.

If an individual does not have a team, he or she can contact the agriculture department and the instructors will find a team for you. The highest three individual scores on each team will count toward the team total. The college will award prizes for teams and individuals.

Each team needs to pre-register by Nov. 14, although a team does not have to have all of its members until the judging contest.
