Cathey Makes Verbal Pledge to Wildcats

Liberal junior wideout Jade Cathey verbally committed to Kansas State earlier this week. K-State assistant Charlie Dickey visited Liberal High School Thursday checking on Cathey’s progress on and off the field. The verbal commitment is non binding. The 6’4″ Cathey known for his basketball prowess, went out for football this year and broke virtually every LHS receiving record. He caught 46 passes for 770 yards and 10 touchdowns. He led the WAC in all receiving categories. Cathey says basketball continues to be his favorite sport. He averaged 17 points and six rebounds per game for the 11-10 Wildcats this season.
