Bye Bye Birdie says hello to Liberal late this week. The musical comedy shows Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights at 7:30 in the Seward County Community College Showcase Theater. Director of the musical Allison Bridget Chambers says the musical provides a slice of Americana. “Bye Bye Birdie is a classic Broadway musical. It had a long an successful run in the 60’s and then was revived last year. It’s had such a great career that it’s made its way into every high school and community theater, professional theater, and touring company in America. It’s definitely an American classic.”

The Rainbow Players will perform the musical. Jim Karlan is the president of the board of directors. Becky Robison is the musical director and Jackie DePew is the conductor of the orchestra.

Tickets are available from members of the cast and at First National Bank in Liberal.
