Barnes Named All Jayhawk West

Seward freshman forward Rachel Barnes is a first team all Jayhawk West selection. The 5’9″ freshman from Windsor, Connecticut averages 13 points and eight rebounds per game. She joins Cloud’s Carolyn Blair-Mobley, Barton’s Kristine Silaraja, Hutch’s Heather Robben, and Ariella McGhee on the first team. Blair-Mobley is named the player of the year while Barton’s Jill Barclay is the coach of the year. Amanda Pierson is named to the second team. The 6’3″ post from Belleville averages 12 points and six rebounds per game. Seward’s 6’8″ Thijin Mose made the men’s second team. The Ontario, Canada native and DePaul transfer averages 13 points and five rebounds per game. The men’s all Jayhawk West team includes Barton’s Nyeeka Williams, Hutch’s Darius Johnson-Odom, Pratt’s Michael Tyler, Butler’s Keyon Milliner, and Colby’s Shamar Acuay.
