Baker Arts Foundation Awarded Compassion Kansas Grant

Twenty-three Kansas organizations have been awarded nearly $215,000 in grant funding and organizational capacity building through the Compassion Kansas initiative, a project of the Wichita State University Center for Community Support and Research.

Chosen from 89 applicants from 27 counties, the following awardees will receive assistance from Compassion Kansa sixth round of funding and organizational capacity building:

Baker Arts Foundation, Barton County Emergency Aid Council, Cloud County Community Resources Council Inc., Community Access Center Inc., Community Learning Center, Derby Community Coalition Promoting Healthy Choices Inc., Eagle Nest Inc., Groovability Inc., Kansas Lifespan Respite Coalition, Kansas Mental Health and Aging Coalition, Kansas Youth Empowerment Academy, King of Glory, Marshall County Infant Toddler Services, Medical Service Bureau Inc., Mt. Hope Sanctuary Inc., Partners for Wichita Inc., Peace Connections., River Rock Ranch Inc., RSVP of Northeast Kansas, Seed of Hope Jail Ministry Inc. Sunlight Childre s Advocacy and Rights Foundations, The Purple Cow, The SMC Family Life Center.

Funded by the federal Compassion Capital Fund, Compassion Kansas provides capacity building support for qualifying faith-based and community organizations throughout Kansas.

Compassion Kansas awards include grant funding and technical assistance opportunities on various organizational capacities, including strategic planning, facilitation, leadership skills, collaboration, service expansion, communication, evaluation research and efficiency improvement.
