LIBERAL, Kan. – Another trio of Lady Saints have signed on to their four-year schools. Malena Catala, Michell Jerez and Ileim Terrero are the next Lady Saints to take the next step on their academic and athletic journeys. 

Malena Catala, a defensive specialist, appeared in 55 matches during her two-year span as a Lady Saint. During those two seasons, Catala recorded 81 digs, 85 service receptions and 15 service aces. She will head down south to Birmingham, Alabama to continue her academic and volleyball career at Miles College, an NCAA Division II school. Catala has a near perfect GPA and was recently inducted into the prestigious Phi Theta Kappa sorority at Seward County. She plans to major in Business Marketing at Miles College. 

Michell Jerez was the Lady Saints starting Libero and played in all 39 matches during this past season. Jerez, during her two seasons in Liberal recorded 982 digs, 934 service receptions and 43 service aces. Jerez had a season and career high in digs against Ranger College back on August 27, 2022 with 42. Michell will also be heading to Alabama as she will continue her academic and volleyball career at Alabama A&M University, an NCAA Division I school in the SWAC.  

Ileim Terrero, a right-side and setter for the Lady Saints has been in the program for three years and has officially signed on to her four-year university. Terrero recorded 187 digs, 67 total blocks and 874 assists during her three seasons with the Lady Saints. Terrero will be signing on to continue her academic and volleyball career at Indiana Tech, an NAIA school in Fort Wayne, IN. 

These signings mark the 7th, 8th, and 9th signings for the Lady Saints during the 2023 recruiting cycle, and Michell Jerez now joins Ana Cambraia as another NCAA Division I signee for this class. These latest signees mean that Head Coach Aubrey Wilson has now had 9 of 11 sophomores sign on four-year volleyball rosters.
