Additional Visitor Restrictions Now in Effect at Southwest Medical Center

No confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Seward CountySouthwest Medical Center is expanding visitor restrictions to prevent the spread of respiratory illnesses, including coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

There are currently zero confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus in Seward County, however we are taking this additional measureto protect the health of our patients, their loved ones and our medical staff.

Effective immediately, anyone under the age of 18 is restricted from visiting, except under extreme circumstances. Patients will be allowed two visitors who must remain in the hospital room for the duration of the visit. Southwest Medical Center is closely monitoring for novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and has implemented the Kansas Department of Health and Environment Guidelines and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) guidelines for the screening, diagnosis, and treatment of patients who exhibit symptoms.
