An accident kills an eight-year-old Liberal girl. The accident occurred in Grant County, just east of Ryus, around 7:00 Sunday morning. Troopers say Guillermina Goita, 32, of Liberal, was driving a 2000 Nissan Pathfinder, on K-190, when she failed to steer through a curve and ran off the roadway.

The accident caused the SUV to roll. Eight-year-old Jacqueline Goita died in the crash. Investigators say the child was not wearing a seat belt. Also injured in the accident was the driver, Guillermina Gotia of Liberal, and 3 year old Karen Cortez, also of Liberal. Both were taken to the Satanta District Hospital to be treated for their injuries.
