The 2026 Pioneer Days Old-Timer’s Committee is
inviting suggestions for a theme for this year’s
celebration. All suggestions will be considered. The
theme should be short, concise, and suitable for the
development of a logo referring to the pioneer history
of the Oklahoma Panhandle. The theme will be used in
all 2026 Pioneer Days publicity and for the parade. A
list of prior themes for years 1963 thru 2025 may be
seen at the Chamber of Commerce website,
www.guymonokchamber.com.

Theme suggestions are due by 5:00 p.m., Friday,
February 27, 2026, and should be mailed or dropped
off to the Guymon Chamber of Commerce at 122 NW
4th, or e-mailed to [email protected].

Please include your name, phone number, and the
theme suggestion.

And yes, it is that time again, The Old-Timer’s Committee of Guymon Pioneer
Days is seeking nominations for 2026 Pioneer Queen and Parade Marshal.
Beginning in 1940, the founders of the Pioneer Days celebration have
honored the memories of the area’s early-day women by selecting one lady
who would represent all pioneer women. Beginning in 1964, a Pioneer Days
Parade Marshal was named to represent all the area’s pioneer men.
These individuals represent all the Panhandle’s pioneers who braved the
many hardships and lived through those homesteading years, almost on
faith and hope alone, and who set a good example of hard work and
courage for their descendants to follow.
The criteria for nomination are:
1) A descendant of those men and women who settled in No Man’s Land,
currently known as the Oklahoma Panhandle, in the late 1800’s or early
1900’s.
2) Live in Texas, Cimarron or Beaver County at the time of the honor.
3) Must have lived in the Oklahoma Panhandle at least 50 years.
4) Must be willing and able to serve if selected.
The deadline for nominations is 5:00, Friday, February 27, 2026.

includes the above criteria information in a sealed envelope to the office
of the Guymon Chamber of Commerce, 122 NW 4th, Guymon, OK 73942.
