Linda Sue Carrillo

Linda Sue Carrillo, age 65, passed away Sunday afternoon, December 7, 2025, at the Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas.

She was born August 3, 1960, at Tahlequah, Oklahoma, the daughter of Buster and Betty Jo (Carson) Cook.  As a young girl, she attended school in Springfield, Colorado, graduating from Springfield High School in 1978.

On June 3, 1978, she married Jose Carrillo at Springfield.  After their marriage, the couple made their home in Springfield before moving to Plains.  A longtime area resident, she was a custodian for the Sublette Elementary School.

She was a member of the Iglesia Evangelica Christiana Espiritual Church.  She enjoyed volunteering, being a caregiver, and spending time with her family, friends, and especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Jose of Plains; a son, Jeffrey Carrillo of Grand Rapids, Michigan; a daughter,  Felicia Carrillo of Plains; three brothers, Mike, Johnny, and James Cook; a sister, Betty Jean Thys; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

She is preceded in death by a son, Aron Carrillo; her parents; and a sister Katherine Cook

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 13, 2025, at the Plains Community Building, Plains.  Interment will follow in the Plains Cemetery.  Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade.
