Leona L. Reimer

Leona L. Reimer, age 77, passed away Saturday afternoon, November 8, 2025, at her rural Fowler, Kansas, residence.

She was born May 1, 1948, at Elkhart, Kansas, the daughter of Perry and Stella Lavena (Forbes) Carlile.  As a young girl, she attended school in Elkhart, graduating from Elkhart High School in 1966.  At the age of twelve she was saved and baptized.  She loved serving and waited tables for 30 years and she was the first of three generations to wait tables at the Meade Chuckwagon.  She also freight dispatched for the family owned business for 14 years.

She attended the Church of the Nazarene of Meade and volunteered many years in the children’s ministries spending many hours loving on the children in the Nazarene church.  She enjoyed working on her yard, mowing, and spending time with her family and friends.

On April 15, 1989, she married Bruce Reimer at the Church of the Nazarene in Meade.  He survives.

Other survivors include her children, Dan Pfanenstiel and wife Alice of Greeley, Colorado, Tressa De la Torre and husband Jorge of Kismet, Kansas, Sherri Bartel and husband Bill of rural Meade, and Jeremy Reimer and wife Kelly of Eudora, Kansas; three brothers, Dennis Carlile and wife Nelda of Meade, Bill Carlile and wife Teresa of Elkhart, Kansas, and Cliff Carlile and wife Nita of Meade, Kansas; a sister Jane Bashford and husband Dave of Richfield, Kansas; fourteen grandchildren; and twenty-four great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by a son Perry Pfanenstiel; her parents; and a sister Earlene Robison.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at the Church of the Nazarene, Meade.  Cremation has taken place with interment to be held at the Liberal Cemetery, Liberal, Kansas, at a later date.  Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade, has been entrusted with arrangements.

The family would welcome memorials to Samaritans Purse in care of the funeral home.
