GUYMON- The Guymon Municipal Airport is preparing for the groundbreaking ceremony and
ribbon cutting for their newly acquired transit hangar. The 120’ X 100’ hangar is part of the
Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics’ (ODAA) Statewide Hangar Program,
ODAA’s Communications and Digital Marketing Coordinator Melissa Fuller shares. This program
addresses the current hangar space shortage and aims to increase and expand the aviation
business. In addition, the project is part of ODAA’s five-year Airport Construction Program (ACP),
which looks to develop and maintain statewide airport systems and support Oklahoma’s
business, transportation, and commerce.
The $2.3 million project received help from various entities. The Federal Aviation Administration
(FAA) contributed $1.3 million, the ODAA pitching in roughly $920,000, and our local airport
covering the remaining $115,000. Fixed Based Operator, Gregg Downing also shared that the
project took a total of 109 days to complete.
The groundbreaking ceremony will take place on November 17, 2025, at 2 p.m. at the Guymon
Municipal Airport.
