Sara Lorine Myers

It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Sara Lorine Myers, a devoted wife, cherished mother, beloved grandmother, and treasured friend, who left this world on September 12, 2025, at the age of 85.

Lorine was born on August 25, 1940, in Pea Ridge, Arkansas, the eldest daughter of William (Bill) and Esther Keene. From an early age, she dedicated herself to caring for others. As the oldest of four sisters, she fondly recalled helping raise her younger siblings—often bringing her baby sister Sharon along with her during her teenage years.

On June 20, 1958, Lorine married Robert E. Myers, the love of her life and husband of 67 years. Together, they built a strong and enduring marriage, a testament to their devotion and resilience through all of life’s joys and challenges. They made their home in Ulysses, Kansas, for most of their lives before retiring in Lindsborg, Kansas. One of their fondest traditions was outlasting other couples on the dance floor at weddings, a sweet reflection of their lifelong partnership.

Lorine and Robert co-owned several successful businesses throughout the years, and Lorine later served as the District Manager for Grant County Conservation District Office in Ulysses, where she worked until her retirement in 2010. They raised three children—Deanna, Brenda, and Bobby—who were the pride and joy of her life.

As a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Lorine was truly the heart of her family—the guiding light, caretaker, and matriarch whose love, wisdom, and laughter filled every room. She had a gift for making those around her feel safe, valued, and deeply loved. Her legacy will live on in the traditions she nurtured, the stories she shared, and the countless lives she touched.

Lorine is survived by her husband, Robert E. Myers; sisters Judy (Dawn) Gaffand Sharon (Joe) Budion; children Deanna (Gary) Hurst, Brenda (Justin) Ford, and Bobby (Angela) Myers; grandchildren Jason (Korina) Ford, Jessica MacAuley (Johnny Francoviglia), Kellyn (Erick) Cardona, Brandon (Brittany) Ford, Cody Myers, Celeste (Jeremy) Danler, Crystal (Delores) Myers, Jaelynn (Hayden) Enyart, and Cadaince Myers (Tanner Luttig); along with many great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William (Bill) and Esther Keene; her twin brother, Lesley Keene; and her sister, Wilma Myers.

Her family takes comfort in knowing her spirit will continue to guide and inspire them. Though she will be deeply missed, her love and legacy will remain forever at the center of their lives.
