Connie Marie Byram,  a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and retired nurse, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2025, at the Lone Tree Retirement Center, Meade, Kansas, at the age of 76.

She was born December 26, 1948, in Ashland, Kansas.  Connie dedicated her life to caring for others, both through her long and compassionate nursing career and in the love she gave her family.  She spent many years working at the Meade District Hospital, Lone Tree Retirement Center, and the Meade County Health Department, where she was known for her gentle bedside manner, strong work ethic, and deep empathy of her patients and their families.

She was married to the love of her life, Gary Byram, for fifty-five beautiful years.  Together they built a life full of laughter, love, and unwavering support.  Connie was the proud mother of two children, Chriss Isenbart and husband Bryan of Derby, Kansas, and Troy Byram and wife Ashley of Gardner, Kansas.

Connie’s nurturing spirit continued through her three grandchildren, Evan Isenbart and wife Kiani of Haysville, Kansas, Dylan Isenbart of Derby, Kansas, and Remington Byram of Gardner, Kansas, as well as two great-grandchildren, Avalynn and Emery Isenbart of Haysville, Kansas.

Her greatest joys came from time spent with her family – whether baking and canning in the kitchen, gardening, or fishing with Gary.

She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and love that will continue to inspire all who knew her.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place with a celebration of her life to be held at a later date.  Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade, has been entrusted with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family would welcome memorials to the Meade District Hospital in care of the funeral home.
