KSCB News - July 21, 2010 12:00 am

Three people facing charges for robbing a Western Kansas convenience store are now accused in a second robbery.

John Grant Shore, 23, Kristina Pauline Lashmet, and Ryan Wesley Swisher, 28, all of Johnson City, are charged in a superseding indictment with two counts of armed robbery and two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence.

The crimes are alleged to have occurred Feb. 14 and Feb. 15, in Hamilton County. The three defendants initially were indicted in June 2010 with one count of robbing Loves Country Store, 208 E. Highway 50 in Syracuse, Kan., and one count of discharging a firearm during the robbery. The superseding indictment adds another robbery count and another count of brandishing a firearm during a robbery. It alleges that on Feb. 14, they committed a robbery at the Eagle Travel Plaza, 215 W. Kansas, in Tribune, Kan., and they brandished a firearm during that robbery.

If convicted, they face a maximum penalty of 20 years and a fine up to

$250,000 on each armed robbery count, a penalty of not less than 10 years and not more than life and a fine up to $250,000 on the charge of discharging a firearm during a robbery, and a penalty of not less than seven years and not more than life and a fine up to $250,000 on the charge of brandishing a firearm during a robbery.
