A 3 vehicle accident occurred Thursday afternoon at approximately 4:38 pm, 1 mile South of U.S. Highway 83 and U.S. Highway 56 Junction.

A 2018 Ford F150 being driven by Brayden Yarnell, 21 of Erie Kansas, a 2014 Kenworth semi being driven be Saul Rodriguez, 52 of Liberal, and a 2005 Peterbilt semi, being driven by Mickey Cobb, 67, of Elkhart were all Southbound on U.S. Highway 83. Yarnell conducted and abrupt illegal U-turn in the roadway. Cobb slammed on his brakes and the Kenworth crashed into the rear trailer of Cobb’s Peterbilt.

Cobb was taken to Southwest Medical Center with suspected minor injuries. Yarnell and Rodriguez wer not injured.
