Katherine Marie Long Julian, age 98, of Johnson, Kansas, died Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Stanton County Hospital in Johnson. She was born near Haviland in rural Kiowa County, Kansas, on January 26, 1927, the daughter of Ralph Ginter and Mabel Dorothy (Hague) Long. She had many happy memories of growing up on a farm in Stanton County, with a loving family and wonderful neighbors and friends.

They shared 58 wonderful years of marriage, before Milton passed away on June 13, 2006. Katherine and Milton were partners not only in marriage but in farming. Katherine was the bookkeeper and also helped with every aspect of the farming. She also taught her children how to drive the tractor. She became a member of the Johnson United Methodist Church, where she was a long time Sunday School teacher. Katherine, being community minded, was a member of numerous boards and organizations, including 4-H Executive Board, 4-H Project and Community leader, United Methodist Women, Extension Homemakers Unit, and the Stanton County Museum Board, which she was a founding member of also.
