The Liberal Fire Department was dispatched to a reported fire at 640 E Pancake BLVD (The Pancake House) at 5:27 am on May 15, 2025.

First arriving crews were met with light smoke in the building. Upon further investigation crews found fire in the ceiling in the kitchen. Fire crews extinguished the fire and the fire was declared out at 5:55 am.

The fire department responded with 9 personnel and 3 apparatus. Firefighters opened the ceiling to remove insulation, to check for fire spread, and ventilated the building. Once the building was deemed safe, it was turned over to the building owner. All Fire Units returned to service at 7:50 am.

The Liberal Fire Department would like to thank Black Hills Energy and the Liberal Building Department for their assistance. There were no injuries reported as a cause of this fire.
