Liberal City Commission Meets

. The Liberal City Commission met Tuesday evening for their regularly scheduled meeting. The meeting took place at 6:30pm in the City Commission Chambers. Among the items on the agenda Commissioners viewed a video presentation from Ed Poley of Whirlwind Career Counseling and Guidance Center. The presentation showed Americ s involvement in war since WWI, and asked for veterans to come forward and be interviewed for a huge video montage that will be shown on the 4th of July after the Liberal BJ baseball game. Commissioners also approved Resolution 2088 and adopted the Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan which includes the City of Liberal, Seward County, City of Kismet, U.S.D. 480, and SCCC/ATS. The commission also gave Police Chief Al Sill permission to pursue the Federal COPS grant, and approved purchases of Body Armor, Leather Duty Gear, and Motorola Radios. The next meeting of the Liberal City Commission will be June 22.
