Martin Fills Out BJ Coaching Staff

KSCB News - May 4, 2010 12:00 am

Liberal Bee Jay manager John Martin named his two assitant coaches for this summer’s team. Garden City Community College assistant Matt Quint and Graceland University assistant Sean Smith will coach the BJ’s. Quint is a Garden City native and former BJ player. He pitched for the BJ’s in 2005. This was Quint’s first year in the Broncbuster program assisting former BJ Chris Finnegan. He helped the pitchers and catchers at Garden. Quint was an all WAC player at Garden City High School before playing Broncbuster baseball from 2002-2004. He then attended Emporia State.

Graceland University assistant coach Sean Smith joins Martin’s staff to coach position players.

Martin’s Bee Jays open their season against the Colorado Bombers June 4 at Brent Gould Field. Their first league game is June 8 at home against Dodge City. The league games and post season games air on Talkradio 1270 and kscbnews.net.
