Huelskamp Stresses His Record in Race for U.S. Congress

KSCB News - April 21, 2010 12:00 am

Kansas State Senator Tim Huelskamp of Fowler was the third of seven candidates in the race for Jerry Moran’s United States House of Representatives seat in District One to sit down with kscbnews.net in studio for an interview about the upcoming election in August.

Republicans Sue Boldra and Tracey Mann who visited Broadcast Square last month said they were all in favor of repealing the new health care law, and Huelskamp agrees with his opponents. In fact Huelskamp admits most of his opponents and him do agree on most of the issues. However, the difference according to Huelskamp is he has a record in the state senate to prove what kind of Congressman he would be.

Huelskamp said voters won’t have to take his word for his campaign promises since his record shows what he will do. One of those things includes cutting taxes and fighting for Kansans each day. Huelskamp said he is already fighting to repeal health care in the state of Kansas at the state level. He also added that he has been awarded numerous times for being one of the most fiscally conservative members in the state senate.

Last week the Huelskamp campaign announced the start of a television commercial which will air district wide. It is the first television spot of the campaign for any candidate. Huelskamp and opponent Jim Barnett currently lead the race of seven in fundraising.

The Republican Primary will be on Tuesday, August 3.
