Kansas Wheat Doing Well

KSCB News - April 20, 2010 12:00 am

A new report says last week’s rainfall was

helpful for the Kansas winter wheat crop but slowed the planting of

corn.

Kansas Agricultural Statistics Service reported Monday that 13

percent of the wheat is rated in excellent condition and 58 percent

rated good. About 24 percent is rated fair, with just 5 percent

rated poor to very poor.

About 21 percent of the Kansas corn crop has now been planted.
