Wynn Named Coach at Team U.S.A. Trials

KSCB News - March 24, 2010 12:00 am

Toby Wynn has yet another feather in his cap. He’s won two Jayhawk West titles, a Region 6 crown, sports a 143-27 record in five seasons as Seward’s head coach, and now a chance to be a part of U.S.A Basketball. Wynn will help conduct workouts at the Team U.S.A 17 and under and 18 and under trials in Colorado Springs this summer. Wynn will be one of the coaches on the floor conducting drills. Wynn says he’s been interested in helping U.S.A. Basketball for about five years. Team U.S.A. selects one NJCAA, one NAIA, and one high school coach to be on the floor coaches during the trials. He will coach five days at the trials. The three coaches will run drills while the coaches of the U.S.A. 17 and under and 18 and under teams will determine which players make the cut. Wynn says he’s excited for the opportunity. “I’m excited to go up there (Colorado Springs) and be a part of U.S.A. Basketball for five days and hopefully make some more contacts and represent our community the best I can.” Since Seward’s season ended, he says recruiting has kept him busy. He also was able to go to Kansas City and see former Lady Saints play for Oklahoma State in the Big 12 Tournament.
