Accident in Kearny County Sends One to the Hospital

An injury accident occurred in Kearny County Tuesday afternoon at approximately 2:53 pm, 0.5 miles west from 6th St on US 50 in Deerfield, KS. A 2015 GMC Canyon being driven by Brooke Jones, 25, of Johnson KS was westbound behind a 1995 Mercury Tracer being driven by Maria Anguiano Mena, 51, of Deerfield when Mena slowed to turn.Jones attempted to slow down in time and moved to the Eastbound lane. The Jones vehicle crashed into the rear of the Mena vehicle.

Mena was taken to Kearny County Hospital with minor injuries,  Jones was not injured.
