Skins Remain Winless in SIT Openers

The Liberal Redskins are now 0-7 in Salina Invitational Tournament openers after their 64-42 loss to the Abilene Cowboys Thursday afternoon at Salina South High School. Liberal drops their sixth straight game.
The Cowboys led the Redskins 21-8 after one and 29-21 at halftime. Abilene led Liberal 43-30 after three.
The Redskins committed 17 turnovers and had only three steals in the loss.
Chris Robledo scored a career high 17 points. Zayden Martinez added 11 points and 11 rebounds. Izzy Rotolo scored eight. Kamryn Jenning pulled down nine rebounds.
Liberal is 2-7 and Abilene is 7-4. The Redskins are 7-15 all time in the SIT. Liberal plays the loser of Blue Valley Southwest and Salina South Friday night at 7:30 at the Brick House at Salina Central on 1270 and 92.3.
