Polls Open Tuesday for Hospital Bond Election

KSCB News - March 2, 2010 12:00 am

Seward County voters in Liberal and Kismet will determine whether Southwest Medical Center gets the facelift hospital officials say they need. The Seward County Activity Center and Kismet City Hall will be open from 7 AM to 7 PM Tuesday. The special election sample ballot will ask voters whether to accept 17 million dollars in general obligation bonds to fund the construction of a front entrance, lobby, reception area, emergency room expansion, second floor improvements, purchase a new MRI machine, and upgrade the hospital entrance. Hospital officials say the bonds will be paid back through hospital revenue and not taxes.
