Guymon Man Walks Away From A Plane Crash

KSCB News - February 27, 2009 12:00 am

A Guymon man walked away from a plane crash with no major injuries Thursady evening. Dan Chain’s airplanes landing gear axle snapped and the airplane flipped before sliding 75 feet in a field on the north side of the Guymon Municipal Airport. Chain immediately called into the airport for help and to make them aware of what was happening. Emergency personnel were notified, and quickly arrived at the scene. Chain was able to climb out of the aircraft with no injuries. A skid line was visible in the grass, along with a few ruts caused by the planes propeller. Chain has been flying airplanes for about 20 years and was reportedly going approximately 35 mph on impact. He was able to crash land the plane, sliding 75 feet when the nose dipped down causing the propeller to hit the ground, flipping the plane.
