Town Hall Meeting Set For Thursday

The Southwest Medical Center bond issue election will be the main

topic for Liberal’s next town hall meeting. There will be a

presentation on the medical center’s bond election Thursday night

at 7 PM at Ruffino’s. The election is next Tuesday but you can vote

early with polls open at the administration building. The meeting is

open to the public. The hospital has seen a 40 percent increase in

outpatient visits the last five years. With the proposed bond there will be an additional

12,500 square feet to expand the ER area, create an enlarged entry and

admittance area, provide space for a new MRI unit, as well as 27,000 square

feet of renovations to Admissions, ER, Radiology, Surgery, Lab, and public

areas Bonds will be paid in full with hospital revenues, meaning

that it wo t cost taxpayers a dime.
