SCCC/ATS Hosts Rural Issues Conference

How can we sustain our rural communities? That’s the question which will be examined most Thursday and Friday as part of the Rural Issues Conference at SCCC/ATS. The sessions include Estate Planning, Transferring the Family Business to the Next Generation; Retirement Investing; Being a Successful Landlord; Bringing Young Adults Back to Rural Kansas; Career Opportunities Panel; Alternative Energy; Commodity Trends, Profitability, and Outlook; and Rural Transportation, Planning Highway 54 and 83 Upgrade. The keynote speaker is Regent’s Professor/Dean and Chief Administrative Officer at New Mexico State’s College of Agricultural, Consumer, and Environmental Sciences Lowell Catlett.
