Kansas State has its highest ranking in 48 years and Richmond is in The Associated Press’ college basketball poll for the first time in 24.

Kansas is No. 1 for a third straight week Monday with plenty of change right below after four top 10 teams lost last week.

Kentucky and Villanova both moved up one place to second and third, while Purdue jumped two spots to No. 4. Syracuse fell from second to fifth with Duke moving up two places to sixth.

Kansas State is seventh, its highest ranking since being No. 6 in the final poll of 1961-62. West Virginia, which lost twice last week, fell from fifth to No. 8, followed by Ohio State and Georgetown.

Richmond, the first-place team in the Atlantic 10, is No. 25, the Spiders’ first time in the poll since January 1986.
