Tony Smith Leaves Saints

A highly sought after point guard at Seward County quit the team Thursday. Tony Smith, a 6’4″ point guard from Greenville, North Carolina walked out of practice Thursday after the Saints watched film of their 76-67 loss to Pratt Wednesday night. Smith averages 14 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists per game for the 19-7 Saints. He was being recruited by a long list of schools. Oklahoma State coach Travis Ford, Texas A@M coach Mark Turgeon, Oklahoma coach Jeff Capel, Kansas State coach Frank Martin, Wichita State Gregg Marshall, and many division 1 assistant coaches have watched Smith in person this year. Seward expected Gonzaga’s Mark Few to make the trip to Liberal later this year.
