Winds Blow Over Semi Near Tyrone

An injury accident occurred Wednesday May 18th at 10:05pm on US-54 at Mile 52 one
mile west of Tyrone.

A 2020 Freightliner tractor driven by Michael Robert Travis, 42, of
Wilder, Idaho was westbound on US-54, when he lost control of the vehicle due to the high winds. The
Freightliner rolled one quarter time landing on the driver side and then departed the roadway to the right, with the trailer coming to rest across both westbound lanes of traffic. Travis was transported by Hooker EMS to Seward Medical Center in Liberal where he was treated and released.

A passenger in the semi, Keileigh Sorenson-Eslick, 23, of Wilder, Idaho was also transported
by Hooker EMS to Seward Medical Center in Liberal. She was later flown to Wesley Medical Center
in Wichita where she was admitted for head, leg, and trunk internal injuries. She is listed in critical condition.
