Seward County Commission Meets For Regular Meeting

The Seward County Commission met Monday evening for their regular meeting with a fairly light agenda Approved by the Commission was the Cimarron Basin Community Corrections FY2021 Year-End Outcome Report. The Year-End Outcome Report is prepared and sent to Kansas Department Of Corrections Quarterly throughout the fiscal year, however, the final report must bear signatures from all six county commission chairs within the Twenty-Sixth Judicial District. This report documents the agency’s identified goals and any challenges or modifications to these goals.

Commissioners also heard from Johnny Ralston on proposed EMS Base charges for citizens that utilize EMS services. The proposed changes would include:

Advanced Life Support non-emergency from $400.00 to $500.00
Advanced Life Support 2 remains that same at $750.00
Advanced Life Support Emergency from $500.00 to $600.00
Basic Life Support no emergency from 300.00 to $400.00
Basic Life Support Emergency from $450.00 to $500.00
Mileage Fee from $14.00 per mile to $15.00 per mile.

EMS has not not adjusted their rates for the last five years. The Commission will address these changes in December.

Commissioners approved Resolution 2021-29 Authorizing Real Estate Tax Foreclosure Sale which  Authorizes the Ad Valorem Tax Foreclosure process to start. In order for the County Counselor to start tax foreclosure sale, this resolution is necessary, pursuant to statute.
