Liberal City Commission Approves Accepting Airport Grant

Joe Denoyer - August 10, 2021 6:36 pm

The Liberal City Commission met Tuesday evening for their regularly scheduled meeting. Up first for the commission to consider was the rezone of a piece of property which formerly housed the Education Service Center. The Planning and Zoning Board originally denied the rezone, and after hearing from USD 480’s Chad Mease and several concerned citizens, the Commissioners voted to send it back to planning and zoning for further discussion. That meeting is scheduled for this Thursday.

The Commissioners voted to accept an Airport Recovery Grant in the amount of $1,052,949, and appointed Corey Barnett, Janeth Vazquez, and Tonya Rivera to 3 year terms on the JCAPS Board.
